The ZDX and ZDX Type S will go on sale in early 2024 following the Monterey debut.

Acura on Thursday released its first teaser video of the upcoming all-electric ZDX SUV ahead of the model’s official debut later this month on August 17th at Monterey Car Week. It’s the first all-electric model to come from the Japanese brand.

The clip itself is rather short and doesn’t do a ton to highlight the all-new electric SUV. A few lights flash behind the SUV before its own front lighting elements kick on, which mirror those of the Integra Type S. The blue hue found on the bodywork is also similar to the color found on many of the Type S press vehicles, which could be a hint that the Type S model will also make its debut on August 17. The performance-oriented EV would certainly be right at home in Monterey as a bit of booth candy. Like every Acura product, the ZDX will be built domestically for the U.S. market.

We do know that Acura will bring both ZDX and a ZDX Type S performance models to U.S. showrooms in early 2024, arriving alongside their sibling, the Honda Prologue. Like the Honda, the Acura ZDX lineup is slated to utilize hardware from the brand’s GM development partnership, including Ultium battery hardware and drive units from the BEV3 platform. Those components are shared with GM’s own electric SUVs, such as the Cadillac Lyriq and Chevy Blazer EV. While Honda has yet to release estimated range figures for either product, that Ultium hardware provides the Lyriq with just over 300 miles of range according to the EPA.

The Acura ZDX lineup will also come bolstered by a few unique tech upgrades, including the brand’s first built-in Google infotainment system integration. Acura also tapped Bang & Olufsen for the ZDX’s audio setup, joining the likes of Bentley, Lamborghini, and Genesis. That audio equipment is slated to proliferate throughout the Acura product line over the next few years, which is a welcomed addition. We’ll have to wait a few more weeks for the full rundown on these upcoming electric SUVs, including actual range figures, pricing, and trim breakdowns.
